Interactive quiz and prize game

Jacobs Creek - Australian Open

We were approached to create an interesting quiz game for interactive touch units to attract participants in order to promote both Jacobs Creek and the Australian Open Tennis Tournament.

The promotion was rolled out at several of the key global Duty Free Shops at major International Airports. Participants were asked a set of multiple choice questions to qualify for entry into a prize draw with many prizes including tickets to the Australian Open Tennis Tournament. The application had data capture of course and the success led Jacobs Creek to ask us to prepare a second version for the Wimbledon Championships.

Case Study

  • Background

    Need for interactive promotions

Interactive touch screens are now part of everyday life. Right from the onset of this new technology we realised the far reaching possibilities of their use and have created hundreds of applications for many different markets. Touch screens have proved their worth as they are not only used for games such as this but are used for your daily shopping and buying train tickets.
  • Challenge

    Getting the key objectives right

The challenge once we had got people to the units and ready to play was to make everything as simple and quick as possible. Regular travellers often time airport departures well so we had to make the game quick but not let them leave before we had what we wanted....their data.
  • Our approach

    Easy user interaction

To attract people to the touch screens we got a unit built which stood out from the normal environment of a duty free shop. In this case loads of tennis balls and a wine cooler did the trick. Once the units were noticed then we had to show the user what was on offer and get them to play.
This was easy.....free wine....a chance to win free tickets....so we built the quiz around this.
  • Solution

    Combining technology with advertising

Given the questions the client set we created an effective touch application with data collection that took no more than a few minutes to complete. The unit design worked, the game worked and the data colllection worked.......a second version was prepared for the following Wimbledon Tennis Championships.
